This is a harmless Kenya Bark Snake (Hemirhagerrhis nototaenia). A pretty secretive little snake which hides under bark and in the cracks in trees. They are incredible climbers using the grip from the bark. We are often asked "how can you tell the difference between a venomous snake and a harmless snake"?. Unfortunately the rules which can be used in other parts of the world DO NOT work for us in Kenya. The easiest thing to do is try and learn the venomous snakes that you find in your area. Here
