Two wild elephants were rescued from a perilous waterfall in Thailand that took the lives of six elephants, Saturday, October 5. Officials were alerted to elephants crying out for help at 3 a.m., the Thai Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation said. Hours later they found six bodies at the bottom of the Haew Narok waterfall. Two of the elephants trapped themselves on a thin, slippery sliver of rock attempting to save one of the elephants that fell into the churning waters.
